CONCERT SERIES

The concert series opened on January 26, 2008 and continued with 8 concerts through May 17, 2009. Last year's concert series was a hugh success.

2009 is even bigger and bolder, we have 10 concerts at 7 wonderful locations around the Bay Area between January and May 2009 with our Encore concert in June.

Lifemark Group Arts, Chapel of the Chimes Oakland and the Piedmont Piano Company have come on board for 2009 to help with advertiseing and will co-partner with us for the two special piano concerts. Bank of the West, along with many more local merchants will be helping us again this year.

Our goal is to raise as much money as possible to benefit several principal charities: AIDS/Lifecycle and the SF AIDS Foundation, Healing Waters (Liquid Camp), and Positive Being. Several concerts will be in collaboration with The The Young's Peoples Symphony Orchestra and will feature_ performances by talented young members of the orchestra and also its Board of Directors.

This year we will featured 2 special Piano Concerts with several local pianists as soloists, and Duet teams, which will be hosted by Michael Morgan, Music Director ofthe Oakland East Bay Symphony, Bryan Baker, pianist and Conductor of Masterworks Chorale and Bryan Nies, Conductor of the Oakland Youth Orchestra.

The Piedmont Piano Company will be donating a custom handmade Fazioli Grand Piano for the Oakland Piano Concert.

The concert series present talented local artists, both professional and non professional-vocalists and instrumentalists, soloists and ensembles-who volunteer their time and talents. They perform across a range of musical styles: classical, gospel and jazz and Broadway songs. Each concert will showcase a Special Guest artist or artists, together with other outstanding local talent. A FEW WORDS FROM THE FOUNDERS
In the BEGINNING , There was an IDEA, then a DREAM, and finally the REALITY. It is a great pleasure and an honor for us to coordinate the AIDS/LIFECYCLE Concert series. Our deepest thanks to all the performers, sponsors and our small group of volunteers who have helped make this dream and concert series a reality. Putting these concerts together has often been overwhelming, but the support from our sponsors and performers has been wonderful, and has always made our work a joy.
