Donna Cherry and Valdez Hill meet in 1984 combined their talents and formed a duet team. Their performances assisted charitable and non-profit organizations raise money for various programs. Donna and Valdez debuted together at Beth Eden Baptist Church in Oakland on March 7, 1985. Later they held recitals at All Saints Catholic Church in Hayward on October 19, 1986, and San Lorenzo Community Church on June 12, 1988. Both Donna and Valdez studied as a duet team and soloist under Julian White. Their partnership ended in 1989 when Donna got married and moved to Canada with her husband. Donna and Valdez are still closed friends and have maintained that friendship over the years.

Biography:
Donna Cherry,
was born and raised in Forest Grove, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. She attended Oregon State University and studied piano with Joseph P. Brye, graduating in 1984 with a B.A. in Piano Performance. Donna has performed in various student recitals as well as competing in the O.S.U. Annual Concerto Competition. Donna has also been active in the O.S.U. chorus and has continued her participation locally in the Hayward Little Theatre Chorus. As part of her college education, Donna spent one year studying in Germany and England. Apart from her studies, she also worked as backstage manager at the Wigmore Concert Hall in London and as pianist for the Whetstone School of Ballet. Donna has further utilized her classical repertoire as a pianist at various luncheons, receptions and weddings.

Finally, after many years of living outside of California, Donna is still married and completed hers Doctors Degree in 2007. She continues to study piano and perform with various local groups when time permits.

Valdez and Donna hope to once day perform again as a Duet team for a upcoming concert in either 2009 or 2010.
